22 Nov 2022 1 comment

Mini DisplayPort is the samller version of DisplayPort. They are all computer peripherals and are designed to transfer audio, video, USB and other forms of data to a display device.

But they have had different fates in their development, so keep reading.

What is Mini DisplayPort

The Mini displaport was released by Apple in 2008 to replace the DVI port, so the MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini are all equipped with Mini DP ports, some PCs such as Asus, Microsoft, MSI, Lenovo, Toshiba, HP, Dell also have Mini DP ports. In 2016, Apple announced the abandonment of Mini DP in favour of USB C ports. so Mini DP stop updating. The latest version of Mini DP support 4K 60Hz and 8.64 Gbps bandwidth.

What is DisplayPort

DisplayPort was developed by VESA in 2006 to replace the VGA, DVI and FPD-Link (LVDS) ports. It is used to connect video sources or displays and supports audio, USB and other forms of data transfer.  DP has gone version 1.0 to 1.1, 1.2, 1.2a, 1.3, 1.4, 1.4a to 2.0. bonjour, j’ ai une question
