I read the following article and purchased the two products mentioned there:
https://cabletimetech.com/ko-kr/blogs/knowledge/2-ways-to-connect-your-nintendo-switch-to-a-portable-monitor-via-cabletime-hub
- 3-in-1 Switch 2 Dock Replacement Portable TV Dock Station
- HDMI to USB Type-C Cable (4K60Hz)
However, this setup does not work for me.
I tested the HDMI to USB-C cable without the 3-in-1 Switch hub, and it works correctly.
But when I use the 3-in-1 Switch hub, it does not work at all.
I tried multiple ways to connect the Switch hub, but none of them worked.
Here is the main setup I tested:
1. Connected the HDMI cable to the Switch hub
2. Connected the HDMI cable’s USB-A (aux power) to the Switch hub
3. Connected a 100W PD USB-C power adapter to the Switch hub
4. Connected the USB-C end of the HDMI cable to my portable monitor (USB-C input)
5. Connected the Switch hub to the Nintendo Switch 2
This setup did not work.
I also replaced the PD power in step 3 with the official Nintendo Switch 2 power adapter and cable, but the result was the same.
Additionally, I tested with another monitor (Dell 2725QE), not just the portable monitor, and it still did not work. All monitors were powered separately.
However, when I removed the Switch hub and used the official Nintendo dock instead, the setup worked:
1. Connected the HDMI to USB-C cable to the official dock
2. Connected PD 100W USB-C power to the dock
3. Supplied power to the HDMI cable’s USB-A using a separate USB adapter
4. Connected the USB-C end to the portable monitor
This setup works correctly.
I purchased these products because I wanted a smaller and more portable dock instead of the official Nintendo dock.
Could you please advise how to resolve this issue?
Is there a compatibility issue with the 3-in-1 Switch hub?
