Logitech MeetUp to a USB-C Laptop: 15m Tested at 4K30

If your MeetUp sits beside the display but your laptop needs to stay on the meeting table, the supplied cable may not reach once you route it around the room.

We tested our 15m CABLETIME USB-C to USB-C Active Optical Data Cable, CT-ACMG2-AZB15, directly between a Windows laptop and Logitech MeetUp. 4K video at 30fps ran normally, and both the microphone and speaker worked. Here is the setup we used and what to check before choosing it for your room.

Our 15m MeetUp test: video and audio worked

We used the original Logitech MeetUp, model V-R0007, and a Lenovo ThinkPad Windows laptop. The cable was the 15m version, model CUA2T, of our USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 Active Optical Data Cable.

What we tested over the 15m cable Result
MeetUp video at 3840 × 2160, 30fps Ran normally
MeetUp microphone Worked normally
MeetUp speaker Worked normally

That gives you a tested option when you need a 15m USB connection from a USB-C laptop to the original MeetUp. You can replace the device cable with one long C-to-C cable, without adding a USB-A adapter or joining it to the supplied lead.

Why choose this 15m USB-C cable for MeetUp?

Our CT-ACMG2-AZB15 USB-C Active Optical Data Cable has USB-C plugs at both ends and uses active optical technology for a longer USB data connection. It is rated for USB 3.2 Gen 2 data transfer up to 10Gbps.

  • Connect directly to a USB-C laptop. One cable replaces MeetUp’s USB-A-to-C lead, without adding a USB-A adapter or joining it to an extension.
  • Keep the laptop within reach. The 15m length gives you more room to route the connection from MeetUp beside the display to the table where you use your files and meeting controls.
  • Use MeetUp’s camera and audio through the same connection. We checked 4K30 video, microphone and speaker operation with this cable and the original MeetUp V-R0007.

The cable itself needs no separate power supply and has a two-year warranty. MeetUp still uses its own power adapter. This is a USB data cable; laptop screen sharing and charging use separate connections, explained below.

Connect the HOST end to the laptop

The connection is straightforward:

Laptop USB-C data port → cable end marked HOST → 15m CABLETIME cable → MeetUp rear USB-C port

Both plugs are USB-C, but the cable has a specified installation direction. Put the HOST end at the computer and the other end at MeetUp. For 4K, use a computer port that supports USB 3.0 or higher data transfer.

Keep MeetUp connected to its own power supply. This cable carries the USB connection; it does not replace the bar’s power adapter.

The cable connects directly to MeetUp’s rear USB-C port. MeetUp’s separate power lead remains connected.

When is it worth replacing the supplied cable?

MeetUp’s supplied cable is 5m long, with USB-A at the computer end and USB-C at the device end. It is a USB 2.0 cable for video up to 1080p. Logitech also confirms that MeetUp accepts USB-C to USB-C cables and needs a USB 3.0 connection for 4K.

Measure the cable route, including the path from the display, around the room and up to the laptop connection point. A table close to the screen can still need a longer cable when the route follows the walls or floor channels.

The reason to choose the optical cable here is the reach: our active optical design provides a 15m USB data connection, with both ends matching the tested equipment. The cable is rated for up to 10Gbps data transfer; our MeetUp video test was at 4K30.

What your room needs A practical choice
The supplied lead reaches, and up to 1080p is enough Keep it. A longer cable is unnecessary.
Your laptop uses USB-C, and the routed distance needs a 15m cable The tested CABLETIME C-to-C cable provides a direct connection to MeetUp.
You want 4K video Use a USB 3.0 or higher data connection throughout, and check that your software supports 4K. Our 15m setup ran at 4K30.

Connect the room display separately

You can use MeetUp’s camera, microphone and speaker over this USB cable. Sending your laptop’s screen to the room display is a separate connection, as shown in Logitech’s MeetUp setup guide.

This CABLETIME cable is for USB data. It does not support USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode display output or laptop charging. Keep your display connection and laptop charger available if you need them. The camera picture travels as USB data, which is different from sending the laptop’s desktop to a monitor.

Check your room setup before securing the cable

Plug the cable into the laptop you plan to use, then choose MeetUp as the camera, microphone and speaker in your meeting app. Check the picture, speak into the microphone and play audio through the speaker. If you want 4K, check the app’s video settings too: our 4K30 test does not set the resolution of every meeting service.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the laptop before fastening the cable along the route. For an installation inside walls or ceilings, confirm that the exact cable meets the installation requirements for that space.

About our test

We checked the original MeetUp V-R0007 with the 15m cable coiled on the test bench. The photos show the physical connection and Windows Camera preview; our functional checks confirmed 4K30 video and normal microphone and speaker operation. These results apply to this setup and length.
